Timers needed for NCAA Championships - UT
Austin _ March 27-29
On March 27-29, 2014, the NCAA D1 Men's Swim
Championship will take place at the University of Texas natatorium in Austin,
Texas. This meet is the fastest short course meet in the world, and includes
numerous current and future Olympians. Tickets to this event are about $15 per
session (if you can find them), but there is an opportunity for free seats
on-deck to get an up-close view of these great athletes in action. In
particular, the meet manager (Gloria Schuldt) is looking for a limited number
of volunteer timers for this meet.
By NCAA rule, all timers must be 16-or-over in
age. Further, timers must work both the Prelim and Finals session. If you are
interested in serving as a timer at this meet, please contact Gloria as soon as

South Texas Swimming Open Water Team
Open Water swimming has been a part of the Olympics for the past two Games.
In an effort to provide our swimmers opportunities to experience this sport,
South Texas Swimming has established an open water team to compete at the Open
Water Festival, April 11-13 in Ft Myers, Florida. This festival will include an
open water clinic, Fran Crippen Mile, LSC Challenge (Race against other LSC
teams) and possibly team pursuit relays. The swimmers will also observe a 10K
race with professional Open Water swimmers. You must sign up to be considered.
A team web site has been established for both sign up and complete information:
